STW Warton
Moss Group has been appointed to deliver the civil engineering package for the upgrade of Warton Sewage Treatment Works, as part of Severn Trent Water’s AMP8 wastewater investment programme. The project prioritises capacity expansion, enhanced storm resilience, and improved treatment performance.
The scope of works includes:
- Construction of new storm balancing infrastructure to manage peak flows and reduce the risk of overflows
- Upgrades to the activated sludge plant to enhance biological treatment performance
- Enhanced sludge treatment facilities to improve operational efficiency and reliability
- Installation of new final settlement assets to optimise solids removal and effluent quality
STW Ludlow
Moss Group has secured a further civil engineering package for Severn Trent Water, supporting the delivery of a UK-first ozone treatment facility at Ludlow Sewage Treatment Works as part of the company’s Green Recovery and river-health programme.
The scope of works includes:
- Construction of new storm tanks and settlement tanks
- Upgrades to pumping stations and associated pipework
These works form part of Severn Trent Water’s wider AMP8 investment programme
STW Whitwell
Moss Group has recently completed the upgrade of the sewage treatment works at Whitwell.
The scope of works included:
- Bulk earthworks
- Final Settlement Tank (FST)
- Oxidation ditch
- Primary Settlement Tank (PST)
- RAS/SAS systems
- Tertiary Solids Removal (TSR)
- Tertiary Sand Filter (TSF)
- Legato retaining wall
STW Leek
Moss Group has recently completed the groundworks and civil engineering package for the upgrade of the sewage treatment works.
The scope of works included:
- Bulk earthworks
- Removal of two redundant Final Settlement Tanks (FSTs)
- Construction of two new Final Settlement Tanks (FSTs) and associated pipework
- Construction of new sludge chambers
- Construction of a five-way distribution chamber
- Upgrade of the RAS/SAS pump station

Moss Group has recently completed the civil engineering and groundworks package for a new science and office facility for Croda Europe.
Croda is a market-leading life sciences and consumer care company operating globally, creating ingredients and technologies that deliver innovation, high performance, and sustainability across a wide range of products used by industry and consumers worldwide.
Further phases of work at the site are now underway.
STW Finham
Moss Group has recently completed the civil engineering package for enabling works in preparation for the construction of a 28-metre diameter shaft, to be sunk to a depth of 28 metres.
The scope included site preparation, temporary works, and associated groundworks to facilitate the safe and efficient sinking of the shaft.
